WHAT IS ACNE ALL ABOUT

WHY IS IT SO DIFFUCULT TO TREAT ?

Preventing the factors that cause it is impossible, therefore, the treatment is symptomatic, chronic, sometimes very long and depending on individual features.

Acne (Lat. Acne vulgaris) is a skin disease which starts during puberty when hormone changes cause super activity of sweat glands.

It is difficult to work out a successful method to get rid of acne because etiopathogenesis of the disease is complex and multifactoral (very essential are genetic factors such as the size of sweat gland, hormone sensitivity, the answer of the immune system to the presence of own propionibacterium acnes bacteria).

Rulling out the causal factors is impossible, thus, the treatment symptomatic, chronic, sometimes very long and depending on individual features. Doctors, especially not dermatologists, does not inform about recurrent and chronic course of the treatment. Thus, when the symptoms back down, the patients stop following the doctor’s recommendations and resign from maintenance treatment. Quick return of the disease discourages young people from taking the new treatment which is a vicious circle.

COMPLICATED CAUSES OF ACNE

The main problem is the outlet of sweat gland, which links with the outlet of hair follicle. This is the place where disturbed keratinisation near the outlet of hair follicle and sweat production start to increase. Sweat instead of draining freely on the skin is closed beneath the head. As a result, the accumulation of sweat, corneous mass and bacteria leads to blow-up of the hair follicle.

This way blackhead either open or closed arises and dermatitis period begins (there is neither red pallet nor pus and it is painful). In such an environment, bacteria of saparofiting type start to be more active on the skin propionibacterium acnes.
