MASSAGE IN NINA STUDIO

HARMONY FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT

Today, we can distinguish more than 60 methods of treating the body, in which massage is one of the elements of action.

Modern massage, in the broad sense of the term, is not just a treatment, prevention and sport.

This concept also includes activities of a relaxation, cosmetics and hygiene, manual therapy, and many others, which can be broadly described as working with the body. The fact that the Western culture adopted methods from the Far East meant that massage is increasingly seen also as a measure to harmonize the body, mind and spirit.

CLASSICAL MASSAGE:

It can be characterized as a treatment for internal and external physical symptoms, in many cases caused by diseases. It involves the mechanical stimulation of the tissues. The massage has direct and indirect effects on the body. It consists of a number of grips, moves and touches (stroking, massaging, compressing, tapping, using vibrations, spreading, rolling), the aim of which is not only to provide treatment, but to prevent many diseases.

Classic massage is increasingly being enriched with elements of segmental massage, massage of connective tissue and periosteum, manual therapy, acupuncture or physiotherapy, in order to adapt the actions of a massage therapist to the patient’s needs.
It includes a general massage (of the whole body) and partial massage (of individual parts of the body).

AYURVEDIC MASSAGE:

“Ayurveda” means “knowledge of life”, or “the art of living”. It is a holistic system of medicine that originated in ancient India. The result of the massage is the restoration of harmony and balance: of the mind, heart and spirit. Ayurvedic massage is performed on the basis of warm herbal oils, individually matched to the type of a person, depending on the element that person represents (Vata, Pitta, Kapha).

STONE MASSAGE:

It uses the capability to transfer energy stored in heated basalt stones, placed in key locations on the body (chakras) and places of the flow of energy (meridians). It affects not only our body but also the spirit. The strength and intensity with which the massage is performed with warm stones are individually matched to customer preferences. The massage gives a feeling of deep relaxation that allows for the release of accumulated stress.

WHY USE THE MASSAGE?

  • Massage affects the central nervous system directly (locally) and indirectly by the reflexes.
  • Its local effect directly on the tissue that are massaged causes the skin to turn pink, increases blood circulation and widening of blood vessels.
  • This gives a better oxygenation because the arterial blood supply to the massaged areas increases.
  • The massage also lightly exfoliates the stratum corneum, facilitating the skin to breathe easier and to faster absorb the preparations used.
  • The mechanism of stimulating the upper layers of the skin stimulates them to renew, strengthens elasticity of the skin and muscles, preventing the formation of wrinkles.
  • In an indirect sense, massage generally stimulates circulatory and lymphatic system, improves muscle and heart function, and also affects the nervous and endocrine system.
